The new era of the WTCR was taken out by the Italian Tarquini (Hyundai i30 N TCR) and therefore the new leader of the FIA WTCR. On the streets of Marrakech there were numerous STILO drivers present and in contention throughout the event.
Tarquini got the new era of WTCR off to a winning start in Race 1, thanks to a lightning start from the second row of the grid. The multi-time touring car champion drove his Hyundai i30 of the team BRC to success, ahead of Bjork and the Brit Robert Robert Huff (VW Golf – Loeb Racing), a driver who also chooses to use STILO. In Race 2, we saw another couple of STILO drivers Mehdi Bennani (VW Golf – Loeb Racing) and Pepe Oriola (Seat Cupra – Team Campos) fight behind the race winner Jean-Karl Vernay. In Race 3 Tarquini bolted away from pole position and led right up to the end, marking a formidable weekend for STILO drivers, using the ST5F ZERO 8860.
