V8 SUPERCARS. MOSTERT LEADS THE STILO DRIVER’S POKER
Chaz Mostert, young talent wearing Stilo, actually dominated the event at Eastern Creek. The driver at the wheel of his Ford with the Team Prodrive, succeeded in Race-1 and the long Sunday race (Race-3). In the general rankings Stilo drivers stand in the first 4 positions with the leader Winterbottom followed by Mostert, Lowndes and Reynolds.
In Race-1 Chaz Mostert battled with the team mate Winterbottom, first in the chart and Stilo driver as well. The 2 have been fighting since the beginning of the race and up to the end but Mostert, further to gaining the pole, also managed to win. In Race-2 Chaz Mostert was again absolute protagonist in the fight for success but this time missed the victory by a hair. Mostert then lead a smart race on Sunday, controlling the rival McLaughlin who was leading the race during the initial phases. During a caution entering the pits, Mostert and his Team played a perfect strategy and returned to the leading position.
Mostert completed then his perfect race and handled a sudden cloudburst that made the track wet and forced him to go to intermediate wheels. Chaz has never lost neither his concentration nor the leadership of the race.
Currently the general rankings see Chaz Mostert a little closer to the Stilo driver currently in the first position, Winterbottom. In third position one more Stilo driver Craig Lowndes (1660) whose weekend was definitely out of luck in Easton Creek. Fourth place for David Reynolds, wearing his Stilo ST5 as well.
Chaz Mostert – #6 Pepsi Max PRA Ford:
“It was a fantastic weekend, I finished all the races and got a good loot of points and now we are in second position. It’s great that our Team is first and second in the rankings, it’s really positive but it’s necessary to maintain this position to the end of the year.
Enduro races are an important part of the Championship of course so now we must be strong there as well. The forthcoming event is Sandown, one of my favorite tracks and I cannot wait to be there and see what’s going to happen.”
