The successful season of Stilo drivers in the V8 Superstar continues. Courtney won in Surfer Paradise on occasion of the latest event.
The Stilo top driver James Courtney won Race-2 but this success is twice as positive considering the unlucky happenings of his recent story. The V8 top driver got involved and injured in July on an accident occurred in the paddock and seemed to be forced to quit the whole latest part of the season. Courtney instead, returned to the wheel of his Holden Commodore of the Team HRT and celebrated the event with a brilliant victory.
His triumph put in the background the close fight among the 2 Stilo top drivers Mark Winterbottom (Ford-Prodrive) and Craig Lowndes (Holden-Triple Eight). They are challenging for the title up to the latest meter and during the weekend Lowndes got 3rd (Race-1) and 4th (Race-2). These results allowed him to get a little closer to Winterbottom, currently leading the general rankings, who had pretty unlucky weekend though, ending both races on the edge of the top positions. The Championship is now about to face the last 3 events and Winterbottom with 2599 points followed by Lowndes with 2341 promises a sprint entirely Stilo marked!
