Leonardo Pulcini has won his first GP3 race at Russian circuit of Sochi. Starting from pole position, the talented young STILO driver did not miss a beat on his way to victory.

Throughout the season Leonardo has been close to the winner’s circle, but for varying reasons of bad luck it did not yet materialise. On the street circuit of Sochi however, the eighth round of the GP3 championship, Leonardo drove a superb race, starting from pole position and going on to dominate right up to and including the final lap. In Race 2, Pulcini was pushed wide off the start and found himself back in 15th position, but from there the Italian made a fantastic comeback to get points from his 8th place finish. With his Race 1 victory, Leonardo finds himself in 4th position in the series as he looks forward to the season finale at the Yas Marina circuit in the UAE. After his Race 1 win, this is what Leonardo had to say;

 “It feels amazing, being the one to fight with the ART guys feels amazing for me. Obviously, the team did an
amazing job and we’re working very well together to be at the front. We did it again today, after the pole position from yesterday, to get the first win today feels amazing. I wanted to win as much as possible, and I just focused on my own race and didn’t watch the mirrors. I focused on my pace and put a gap in the last lap – I was just controlling the pace in the beginning and the middle of the race, and in the last part I was pushing like crazy.”
